Business support and advice
We want to make it really easy for you to do
business in the Wychavon area whether you're new to the area or
already located here. This is the number one priority for us and
we're doing all we can to help you.
To back this priority up we have identified,
at a time of financial challenges, an extra £750,000 of our own
funding to invest in supporting the local economy. Worcestershire
County Council has also identified a stronger economy as a priority
and we’re working with them on supporting businesses.
What do you get at the moment?
- Help to develop land, business premises and attract inward
investment
- Advice on funding opportunities
- Business grants, commercial premises search,
economic data, employment and investor reports, and economic
assessments
- Business guide and business newsletter
- Support for local high speed broadband
campaigns
- Programme of events that attract tourists to
the area
- Support the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership
What more are we going to do?
- More business grants – we’re extending the
grants we provide and aim to give 70 new businesses grants in the
coming year. This will help stimulate the economy and attract
start
- Relationship manager – a named officer who
will directly help businesses deal with the various services
provided by Wychavon such as planning, business rates and land
searches.
- Planning advice – businesses will get free
pre-application advice from planning officers. This advice is aimed
at ensuring that businesses are fully aware of what information is
required and this will help speed up decision making and reduce any
unwanted surprises.
- A high profile local marketing campaign –
communicating our offer, explaining why Wychavon is a great place
to do business and using current business successes to illustrate
this.
