Past consultations from the current year can be found here, previous years are listed in the left hand column.

  • Council Tax Support Scheme and Council Tax discounts and exemptions 2012 consultation questionnaire (2012/012)

Council Tax Benefit, Council Tax exemptions and discounts are changing.

The Government is abolishing the national Council Tax Benefit scheme and is asking us to replace it with a scheme of our own, to be called Council Tax Support. They are also making some changes to the Council Tax Regulations, giving local councils the chance to make changes to the rules about which properties are exempt from Council Tax and which qualify for a discount.

We proposed some changes to these rules and wanted to hear views on these proposals.

This consultation closed at 5pm on Friday, 26 October 2012.

  • Wychavon Parks 2012 Survey (2012/011)

We ran a series of face to face surveys across the District, to learn more about usage at the five main District parks.

Lido Park & St. Peter's Fields, Droitwich
Vines Park, Droitwich
Abbey Park, Evesham
Workman's and Waterside Gardens,, Evesham
Abbey Park, Pershore

This survey closed on Sunday 16 September 2012

  • Landlord Survey (2012/010)

In order to consistently offer the best service possible to our Landlords and residents we are currently undertaking a survey of all Landlords in the Wychavon area to find our services are currently accessed and find out ways we can improve our service.

Based on the information we gather we hope that we will be able to amend the way we work together with local Landlords to create and sustain strong relationships that will in turn have a positive impact on the amount of people that can access the Private Rented Sector in the District.

  • Food waste collection funding bid (2012/009)

We currently provide a food waste collection service every week. At present, on a refuse week (black bin/black bag) the content of the food waste bin (grey caddy) is tipped into the bin/van which then goes to landfill. On the recycling week (green bin/clear bag) the food is collected by a dedicated food waste vehicle and is taken to be composted.

We are currently working on a bid for funding to add a dedicated food waste vehicle to the collection rounds so that all food waste collected can be composted.

This will have many benefits including reducing our costs to dispose of waste disposal, increasing our recycling rate and other environmental benefits such as reducing our carbon dioxide emissions.

As part of our preparation for the bid we wanted to understand your views about the collection service and likelihood of using it more. The consultation closed on Monday 13 August 2012 and comments and statistics were used to support our funding bid.

  • MIRA social gatherings (2012/005)

In conjunction with MIRA, Evesham Library and the Polish Association of Evesham, we wanted to assess the popularity of providing a regular social gathering at the Evesham Library for migrants to the local area.

We wanted to find out what residents would like to have included at gatherings and if they would be interested in volunteering their own time to help run and organise these events too.

We held a public meeting at the Evesham Library on Saturday 19 May where XXX people responded to the survey.

  • Democracy and elections (2012/004)

Following the last local elections in Wychavon which were held in May 2011, many parish councillor seats and 16 district councillor seats were uncontested. This means that right number of people stood for the number of seats available and that no 'voting' was needed to secure their position.

We think it is vital for a democratic district to have a choice of representatives standing for elections and we are seeking views to find out why people don't want to stand as a representative for their local area.

We invited respondents of the November 2011 Worcestershire Viewpoint survey who said they would be interested in being a local representative for volunteer organisations, schools and as local councillors to take part in this short survey, to try to identify why some people choose to stand and what may stop others from standing.

The survey ran from 14 May to 01 June. Of the 193 people invited to take part 82 responded (42.5%) A summary of the results is now available.

  • Youth Zone move (2012/002)

After two years in the High Street, Droitwich Spa and a review of the success of the Youth Zone to date, it was a recommendation of the review to consider relocating to a shared premises. We sought the views of potential users by running sessions in classes in the high school in Droitwich asking those aged 11-17 what they wanted to see offered at the new Youth Zone, at the Royal British Legion

The survey ran from 12 January to 19 February with 215 young people responding directly to the survey. The results of the survey helped to determine what would be available to the young people of Droitwich and what days the Youth Zone would be opened.

  • Website post-launch survey (2012/001a)

Following the launch of the website, we wanted to make sure that users were finding the new layout friendly and that they were still able to find their regular pages and favourites.

We ran a short survey asking users how they would rate the new layout and what changes they would make if any that would make it 'very good'

The survey ran from 17 April to 25 May and was open to all those that accessed the website.

  • Wychavon's new website design (2012/001)

We sought your views on our proposed new site layout. We have changed the design in order to make it easier for users to find the key information they need. We've de-cluttered and streamlined, but have also moved some of the top areas we know users come to our site for to the front, so they're easy to find.

This consultation closed on Friday 27 January 2012, comments given will help to finalise the design for the new website layout.

The new website was successfully launched on Monday 12 March 2012, the release was phased, and was fully operational from Friday 16 March.
