What will Worcestershire be like in 10 years time?
If time travel were possible, we could zoom ten years into the future and see what Worcestershire would be like.
The Worcestershire Partnership is the body that does just that. It brings together local government, public services such as health, learning providers, police and probation, voluntary and community organisations, and local businesses within Worcestershire. The Worcestershire Partnership is a non-statutory body. The work of the Partnership is based on good will and a shared common purpose.
The role of the Partnership is to develop and deliver a vision for the future of Worcestershire that meets the aspirations of local people and which promotes the social, economic and environmental well being of the County.
We have done this by producing:-
Partnership Towards Excellence - A Community Strategy for Worcestershire 2003 – 2013
The Community Strategy puts down on paper the things that our residents told us would make Worcestershire a better place to live, and work in. We have developed a vision for the future of the County this is:
A County with safe, cohesive, healthy and inclusive communities, a strong and diverse economy and a valued and cherished environment
We listened carefully to the aspirations for Worcestershire, and have promised to do all we can to make sure we do those things that are most important to our residents. Our strategy has 6 key themes:-
We all want a County with:
1. Communities that are healthy, and support vulnerable people
2. Communities that are safe, and feel safe
3. Learning and skills for everyone, at every age
4. Economic success that is shared by all
5. A better environment – for today and for our children
6. Connecting Worcestershire – equal citizens, good public transport, and a regionally and nationally recognised County
