Residents Household Waste Site Permits

Household Waste Sites (Recycling Centres) are provided in Herefordshire and Worcestershire for residents of the two counties to recycle and dispose of their household waste.

Some of the Household Waste Sites (HWS) are used extensively by people who are not residents of the two counties, and this cost is borne by the council tax payers of Herefordshire and Worcestershire. We are therefore conducting a trial in the Redditch Borough and Bromsgrove District, restricting the use of HWS to county residents only. This will not only increase efficiencies in terms of cost, but will also improve the service for genuine residents by reducing inputs to the site, and therefore queuing.

From 2nd April 2007 the Redditch HWS located on the Park Farm Industrial Estate, and the Bromsgrove HWS located at Quantry Lane Romsley will be for use by residents of Herefordshire and Worcestershire only. To access either of these two sites you will be required to display either a Residents Permit, or provide proof of residency within the two counties.

Residents Permits are being distributed free of charge to all Redditch Borough and Bromsgrove District residents with their council tax annual bill. When you receive your Permit you do not need to do anything, except take it with you when you visit the Household Waste Site. You will be required to display your Residents Permit, or provide proof of residency (e.g. driving licence or current utility bill) before being allowed to use the site. By displaying your permit you will reduce the time that your visit takes.

Where do I get my permit from?

You should receive your Residents Permit with your council tax annual bill, which is delivered to your door each March. If you do not receive your permit please call 0845 607 2007 to request one.

What if I move to the area?

If you move to Redditch Borough or Bromsgrove District please call 0845 607 2007 for your residents permit.

Alternatively you can apply in person with proof of residency at your local Worcestershire Hub;

Redditch One Stop Shop, Town Hall, Alcester Road, Redditch, B98 8AH

Bromsgrove District Customer Service Centre, adjacent to Dolphin Centre, School Drive, Bromsgrove B60 1AY

What do I do with my permit?

To reduce the amount of time that your visit to the HWS takes, please clearly display your permit in your vehicle upon entering the site, for instance on the dashboard.

What happens if my permit is lost or stolen?

For a replacement Residents Permit please call 0845 607 2007. You will be required to have proof of residency before a replacement permit will be issued.

I am waiting for my Residents Permit to arrive..

..can I still visit the HWS?

Yes. Upon arrival to the HWS you will be asked to provide proof that you are a resident of Worcestershire. If you do not have any proof you will not be allowed to use the site.

I am not a resident of Redditch or Bromsgrove..

..but I do live in Worcestershire, can I still use the site?

Yes. Upon arrival to the HWS you will be asked to provide proof that you are a resident of Herefordshire or Worcestershire, for example a driving licence or current utility bill. If you do not have any proof of residency you will not be allowed to use the site.
