Comments Regarding the events/venue

Comments were on 408 of the 569 questionnaires and these will be considered when booking future events. The comments are summarised below.

Positive Comments

"Venue was Very Good, Great Idea, Excellent, Lovely, Fabulous, Brilliant, Enjoyable and Entertaining"
"Appreciate the alternative venue due to the weather". "Thought it was a good free event"
"Plenty of space", "Very well organised", "Staff were excellent", "Lots to do", "Venues were clean and tidy"

Negative Comments

"Should be more activities for older children and throughout the day and more shows and more events throughout the summer"
"Should be more publicity"
"Should be a cover or somewhere dry"
"Should be more child-friendly music so perhaps more choice of music"
"Sound of the bands should be turned down a bit"
"Should be more stalls at the event"
"Should be some kind of seating"
"Litter was a problem"

Action Points

  • Putting on more activities comes down to budgets. The only way to put on more shows throughout the summer would mean we would have to start introducing charges  and that would not be fair to all.
  • Publicity for the events - The events were advertised in the local press, Primary times, leaflets (sent to Leisure Centres, Libraries, Tourist Information in all 3 towns), WDC Website, Posters in towns, Whats on Worcestershire website, Plug and Play website, BBC Hereford and Worcestershire Website and other various booklets and pamphlets. There is not many places left to advertise the events but will look into this in the planning for next year.
  • Cover or somewhere dry - On 3 occasions we did use an alternative indoor venue due to bad weather (at an additional cost to us) so as not to cancel any shows.
  • Regarding the choice of music we will be holding a meeting with the Youth Music Contractor to discuss the future music programme.
  • We try to use a wide range of space to reduce the noise levels
  • We are trying to provide free financially accessible events. This would not be the case if we had more stalls.
  • Supplying seating is ineffective with costs. We will endeavour to let people know to bring their own seating  when we advertise next year.
  • Litter being a problem - Kids of today eh? There is an ample supply of bins around the parks and a litter pick is done after each event.
