Tesco helps local and national charities as well as voluntary organizations to provide practical support for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. The majority of appeals from local community charities are handled through the Tesco Charity Trust Community Award Scheme.
This scheme distributes some £360,000 each year to charities in communities where Tesco has stores. Community Awards benefit charities that deliver practical benefits to children's welfare, children's education, the welfare of elderly people and people with disabilities. Donations generally range between £1,500 and £5,000.

UnLtd Millenium Awards are cash awards plus support, to help individuals and small informal groups turn their ideas for social change into reality. Projects must be a learning opportunity for the applicants as well as have significant community benefit. All the award winners will be provided with advice, training, mentoring and other support services, to give their projects the best chance of success.

WREN is fully committed to the provision of grants under the terms and conditions of the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme. By doing so they aim to enhance the social environment, natural conservation and heritage aspects of the world in which we live and create a beneficial and lasting legacy for future generations. Funding is limited and not all requests for grant support can be satisfied. Project applications which demonstrate self help, viability, sustainability and offer benefits to large numbers of people receive priority for funding. WRG Village Hall & Community Centre Challenge Village Halls and Community Centres perform a wide range of vital functions and help deliver community cohesion and unity. In many instances they are the only place for community activity and are therefore essential places to be used and enjoyed by a considerable number and wide range of voluntary and charitable organisations. From pensioners? luncheon clubs to sports organisations, mothers and toddlers clubs and many other special interest groups these halls provide a base for their activities. These in turn draw people together and allow them to work for the benefit of the wider community.
