Community Safety Partnership

What is the South Worcestershire Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership?

The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 means that a new partnership has to be formed.

Each partnership has a Community Safety Officer to ensure that crime and disorder reduction projects and policies are being properly carried out.  They also have to undertake a comprehensive audit of crime, disorder and drugs issues every three years and develop and implement a 3-year.  The most recent Wychavon Strategy started in April 2005 and runs until March 2008.

Who is on the new Partnership?

The group includes representatives from:

  • Wychavon District Councils,
  • Malvern Hills District Council
  • Worcester City Council
  • Worcestershire County Council,
  • Local Police Division,
  • West Mercia Police Authority,
  • H&W Fire Authority
  • South Worcestershire Primary Care Trust
  • Community Safety Co-ordinators from the 3 districts.
  • West Mercia Probation Area,
  • Youth Offending Service
  • Worcestershire Substance Misuse Action Team

In addition to the formal Partnership there are three South Worcestershire theme project groups.  These look at Domestic Violence, Hate Crime and Drugs and Alcohol.
