Bothered by COSHH?

COSHH

  • Do you know what this means?
  • Did you know that the law requires you to do a COSHH Assessment for certain chemicals?

If the answer is NO read on....

Are chemicals, biological agents, dusts present in your workplace?

  • Does any chemical you use have an orange label stating it is - Irritant, Harmful, Toxic?
  • Have you been asked to do a COSHH Assessment during a Health and Safety visit or inspection?

If you can answer YES to any of the above then help is at hand:

COSHH stands for "Control of Substances Hazardous to Health" Regulations 2002 (as amended).

If you are a small or medium size business help is now available via the HSE's COSHH website to help you carry out assessments and access to COSHH advice sheets tailored to your business.

The HSE's free on-line risk assessment system - 'COSHH Essentials' - will help you to do a risk assessment, reduce exposure to hazardous chemicals and reduce possible adverse effects or ill health from them.
