Pets & Warm Weather
The RSPCA is urging pet owners to keep their animals safe in warm weather.
Their top 10 tips to help keep your pet safe in the sun are:
- Never leave an animal in a car in warm weather
- Don't let your pet get sunburnt
- Make sure all pets have access to shade and a constant supply of fresh drinking water
- Check your pets for fleas, ticks and mites
- Check animals every day for fly-strike
- Don't exert dogs in the heat
- Keep indoor fish tanks out of direct sunlight
- Don't leave pets home alone when you go away
- Be wildlife-friendly in the garden
- Disturb bonfires before burning garden rubbish.
