Generally speaking fly tipping is "the illegal deposit of any waste onto land i.e. waste dumped or tipped on a site with no licence to accept waste".
Waste includes: general household waste; larger domestic items including fridges and mattresses: garden refuse; and commercial waste such as builders' rubble, clinical waste and tyres. Such waste can occur in any quantities in any mixture in any location. Accordingly fly tipping incidents need to be treated on a case-by-case basis.
Individual items discarded by the public such as a soft drink can, crisp packet, sweet wrapping etc are not fly-tipping. For more information on these kind of issues, see our street scene pages.
Both Wychavon District Council and the Environment Agency have responsibilities to investigate fly-tipping. The following is a guide on who to contact:
If the fly-tipping is on public land please report it using our Fly tipping on public land page
Please note in some circumstances your case may be referred to the Environment Agency.
