Charter Mark For Customer Service Excellence

The Housing Section has been awarded the prestigious Charter Mark standard.

The assessment is undertaken by an independent organisation and is approved by the Cabinet Office in Whitehall.

The assessment is very thorough with 63 elements to be tested against. We passed 59 and were given 'minor non compliance' status on the other 4. Work on removing the minor non-compliances has already started.

In a letter from The Prime Minister he said:

  • "...This is not a standard that is easily achieved and is a tribute to your organisation."
  • "Your achievement clearly demonstrates that customers' needs and aspirations genuinely form the basis for the design and delivery of the services you provide."

The independent assessor made some very positive comments on the level of our service including:

  • "Excellent and highly motivated staff who are clearly focused upon providing their customers with a high quality service."
  • "The work you are engaged in with the Community is excellent, particularly since much of this work is targeted to help the most vulnerable members of your community."

We are obviously very pleased that our service came out so well but we will not be resting on our laurels.

If you want to send us a compliment, make a complaint or a suggestion you can do so on-line by going to our Compliments, Complaints & Suggestions page.
