Scrap Metal Dealers

We are responsible for keeping a register of "scrap metal dealers" carrying on a business our area.

Registrations have to be renewed every three years.

Anyone not registered, but doing the following is committing an offence.

• they have a scrap metal store in wychavon and trade scrap metal.
• they don't have a scrap metal store but they trade scrap metal and live in wychavon
• they don't have a scrap metal store or live in the area, but they have an office in wychavon where a scrap metal business is operated from.

Dealers have to keep records of what they buy and who they buy it from, and what they sell and who to.

Anyone suffering nuisance due to noise, smells or similar because of a commercial premises should contact the Environmental Protection team to see if we can help (email environmental.health@wychavon.gov.uk, phone 01386 565233).

Grant of a licence doesn't mean that we've given planning permission: consent under town and country planning law may still be required. Please contact our Planning Services on 01386 565565.
