We are looking at changing the conservation area boundary and publishing a Conservation Area Character Appraisal and Management Plan to make sure that the special quality of the conservation area is preserved and enhanced.
The appraisal identifies the special interest of the conservation area and will be taken into account in considering planning applications affecting the conservation area in future. The management plan looks at how the preservation or enhancement of the conservation area can be best achieved in future.
Carol Marsden, Senior Conservation Officer said There are changes proposed to the conservation area to include more of the village Cleeve Prior dates back to Saxon times. The village we see today would once have been a prosperous farming community and there is much evidence of medieval farming in ridge and furrow around the village and the number of barns and other farm buildings. Much of what we see today in the village has its roots in that early development over a thousand years ago.
There will be a presentation on the review and an opportunity to ask questions at The Memorial Hall in Cleeve Prior on Wednesday 23rd July starting at 6.30pm
Information will also be available on our website at www.wychavon.gov.uk and at the Civic Centre in Pershore, Evesham Community Contact Centre, Evesham Library and at The Memorial Hall in Cleeve Prior during normal opening hours from 14th July
