The main idea of the Community Sports Coach Scheme is to get 3,000 paid, qualified Sports Coaches working in local communities across England. The scheme will result in:
Developing a pool of high-quality Community Sports Coaches that will not only enhance the quality of existing activity but also provide the opportunity to create new activity. This pool of Community Sports Coaches will work as a team across a range of clubs, schools and local authorities, based on an identified need to ensure that the maximum number of young people benefit. A Community Sports Coach is a qualified National Governing Body coach with relevant experience, who is committed to continous professional development and has been checked by the Criminal Records Bureau.
