What does The Family Information Service do?
On the 1st November 2006, the Childrens Information Service (CIS) changed its name to the Family Information Service (FIS). Family Information Service provides information for families with children aged 0-19 years on: - Childcare
- FREE early education places
- Sports and Leisure activities
- Rights of working parents
- Support Services for families
- Support for children with special needs and/or disabilities
The FIS also provides information for young people interested in working with children, young people and their families. The FIS with the Recruitment Team can offer information and advice on: - Career options
- Job vacancies
- Vacancy matching service
- Training Opportunities
- Becoming a childminder
- 'Choices' free introductory programme
