Wychavon Community Grants Scheme

Wychavon District Council has an annual Community Grants Programme.

Guidance notes for the scheme are here to help you plan for your project. The scheme for 2008/09 is now finished but for 2009/10 it will be launched in the local press and leaflets will be posted out to lots of organisations throughout wychavon including the one stop shops, libraries and leisure centres. This will give you contact details on how to get an application form.

Introduction

Wychavon Community Grants are on offer to local voluntary groups and charitable organisations to:-

• support initiatives that improve services and facilities for the local community;
• encourage local action to improve quality of life;
• contribute towards the Council’s priorities, as set out in the enclosed community plan.

We particularly want to fund innovative, new projects that will make a lasting difference to the community and improve quality of life in Wychavon.

So if you've got a good idea or are looking for some funding to help get a project off the ground a Community Grant could be just what you need.

Details for next years grants will be available towards the end of the year so please keep checking here for details.

Some organisations benefitting from 2007/08 grants are:

• Beckford Nature Reserve were awarded £10,000 to help purchase and set up a nature reserve
• “For Droitwich Spa” were awarded £2,500 to help extent the Droitwich Spa Arts, Drama & Music Festival
• Overbury, Beckford & Ashton Community Minibus Committee were awarded £3,000 towards the replacement of their ageing minibus
• Badsey Rangers FC were awarded £2,000 towards the refurbishment of their changing rooms
• Cutnall Green Playground Commttee were awarded £3,500 toward the refurbishment of their play area
