Awards for all
Following a review of the Awards for All England programme, changes are to be made to the small grants scheme’s existing format when it comes to an end in March 2009.
Currently Awards for All England is a joint Lottery grants programme supported by Arts Council England, Big Lottery Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport England.
From 1 April 2009 each of the lottery distributors supporting the scheme will have their own small grants programmes up and running. Applications can still be made under the current arrangements until 31 March 2009.
The change will mean that each distributor can better address the needs of their applicants and the themes they support. Overall, across all the distributors, it is anticipated that new money available for small grants in 2009-10 will be comparable to money that was available to community groups through Awards for All in 2008-2009.
To ensure this change will be as seamless as possible, the distributors will each run their own small grants programme as follows:

FLOSS (funding for lots of super stuff)
FLOSS is the youth opportunity fund in Worcestershire. The money aims to increase the number and range of places to go and things to do for young people in Worcestershire. Young people themselves control this funding and take an active role in deciding how this is spent locally.
Any young person in Worcestershire between the ages of 13 and 19 can apply for up to £2,500 as long as the project benefits the Worcestershire area.

B&Q Better neighbour grants
Every B&Q store is striving to be a ‘better neighbour’ by forming partnerships within its local community. Through the Better Neighbour Grants Scheme’, schools, community groups and charitable organisations can apply to their local B&Q store for funding to support a local community project. The scheme provides £50-£500 (at retail cost of B&Q materials to help get a community project up and running.

Football Foundation
The football foundation supports projects for schools and the community in England. Grants are divided into grass roots, community projects, schools projects and also offer free kits. Funding is also available for capital builds.

Tesco Charity Trust Community Award Scheme
Tesco helps local and national charities as well as voluntary organisations to provide practical support for children, the elderly and people with disabilities. Donations generally range between £1,500 and £5,000.

The Big Boost
This is funding available for young people between the ages of 11 and 25 for community projects. If you visit the website there is a questionnaire that will tell you if your project is eligible for funding. For people aged between 11 and 16 you can apply for £250-£1,000. For young people aged between 16 and 25 you can apply for £500-£5,000,

Sport England
Sport England has 2 funding streams.
The National Investment Fund gives £130mill to 30 different priority sports and is distributed in conjunction with National Governing Bodies and other national partners.
The Community Investment Fund is available for projects seeking funding over £10,000.

Sports Match
Sportsmatch is funded by Sport England and administered by the Institute of Sports Sponsorship and is a business incentive scheme. Sportsmatch aims to increase the number of businesses sponsoring sport at the grass roots level, i.e. beginners and novices. Sportsmatch will match pound for pound commercial business sponsorship for a sporting event or activity that aims to increase participation at the grass roots level. Sports Aid
A SportsAid grant provides financial support to young sportsmen and women. It acknowledges that they have a special ability and with the correct level of support, they could go on and achieve their full potential. Individuals who are at or working towards elite level sport and are between 12 and 18 years and a member of a Great Britain/England squad or team can apply for the grant.

National Sports Foundation
The National Sports Foundation ('The Foundation') is responsible for levering new and additional private investment into grass roots sport in England, and for promoting the benefits of investing in grass roots sport. It is a great opportunity for both investors and community sports organisations to work together to improve the sporting infrastructure of the country. It is similar to Sportsmatch but the foundation will match sponsorship of over £50,000.

Community Champions Fund
To support individuals (not established organisations) who have missed out on the chances offered through mainstream funding activity. These could be people that have little or no experience of post school education, training or employment. The fund can also support those who are already active in their communities. The main focus is on helping individuals develop their skills and ideas to benefit their communities. Individuals can apply for small grants up to £2,000.

The Foundation for Sports and Arts
The aim of this foundation is to increase participation in Sports and Arts especially amongst young people. Up to £40,000 can be applied for as long as the project has clear benefits for the wider community.

Local Network Fund
The aim of the Local Network Fund for Children and Young People is to improve opportunities for children and young people by providing small grants and support for voluntary groups working with 0-19 year olds (25 year olds for those with a learning difficulty) Grants are available for between £250 - £7000.

Sport Relief
Sport Relief was set up by Comic Relief and BBC sport to use the power and passion for sport to tackle poverty and disadvantage, both in the UK and in some of the worlds poorest countries.
Community First is supporting Worcestershire Community Foundation to deliver Sport Relief in Worcestershire and for 2006-2007 we have £20,000 to allocate.
The main thrust of the fund is to encourage sporting activities that have a social purpose, removing barriers between communities and promoting social inclusion.

Wychavon District Council Community Grants
Wychavon Community Grants are on offer to local voluntary groups and charitable organisations to support initiatives that improve services and facilities for the local community, to encourage local action to improve quality of life and contribute towards the Council’s priorities, as set out in the enclosed community plan.
