Stray Dogs

All dogs must wear a form of identification, such as a collar and tag and/or microchip. For further information, please contact the Dog Wardens on 01386 565015 (between 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday).

If you have lost your dog

Owners of lost dogs can call in at one of our Community Contact Centres in Evesham and Droitwich Spa or at the Civic Centre, Pershore where computerised pictures of dogs currently kept at our kennels can be viewed.

If your pet is at our kennels

After identifying your pet you can retrieve it after paying the statutory fine, an administration charge and a daily kennel fee plus any veterinary bills that may be incurred, if the dog is in ill health, or has been injured.

  • The Statutory Fine is £25.00
  • The administration charge is £15.00 reduced to £5.00 if the dog is microchipped or you agree to have the dog microchipped by the kennels
  • Each day or part day that the dog is at the kennels costs £14.69 including VAT

All costs must be paid at one of our Community Contact Centres in Evesham and Droitwich Spa or at the Civic Centre, Pershore before your dog will be released from our kennels.

If your pet is not currently listed

Let us have the following details:

  • when and where last seen;
  • a full description of the animal;
  • and your contact details.

We are not the only body who may be aware of lost dogs, therefore, you should also consider contacting:

and nearby Local Authorities:

Dogs unclaimed after a week will be re-homed wherever possible.

Reporting that you have seen or found a stray dog

If the dog is contained please call us on 01386 565015 during office hours and we will arrange for the dog warden to collect it. If it is roaming then we will patrol in the area and try to detain the dog, however this can be very difficult.

The dog warden service only operates during office hours

Dogs found during office hours:

Contact the Environmental Services department on (01386) 565015.

Outside office hours

Dogs can be handed in at Evesham Community Contact Centre, Abbey Road, Evesham during their opening hours below

Mon-Fri - 8am-8pm
Sat - 9am-5pm
Sun -10am-4pm

If this is not practicable then please contact Worcestershire Telecare on 08450 568035 and advise them of the details. Telecare will liaise with the out-of-hours dog warden and arrange for the dog to be collected.
