Wychavon Home Choice is being developed into a new improved scheme which will be called Home Choice Plus, working in partnership with 5 Sub Regional Local Authorities.
Wychavon District Council will be going live with this scheme on 29 July 2008, followed by:-
| Worcester City Council | September 2008 |
| Malvern Hill District Council | September 2008 |
| Wyre Forest District Council | September 2008 |
| Bromsgrove District Council | October 2008 |
| Stratford-on-Avon District Council | December 2008 |
There will be very little change for existing Wychavon customers. When the other partners advertise their properties you will be able to view and bid via:-
Wychavon Home Choice. Housing Association vacancies will be advertised online at www.wychavonhomechoice.org.uk and in Council and Housing Associations offices.
When you apply to join the scheme you will be given a registration number and your application will be banded (Gold, Silver or Bronze) according to your housing need.
If you see a property you like, that you qualify for and would like to be considered for, you 'bid' for it. This can be done in a number of ways, such as: -
You can check which properties will be advertised each week: -
Each week you will be able to bid for a maximum of two properties. At the end of the bidding cycle the applicant with the longest waiting time and the greatest housing need will be allocated the property.
We have two sections that cover a wide range of housing issues and both sections work together to provide an efficient service to our customers
We deal with the housing waiting list, which anyone can apply to, and are here to help if you are threatened with homelessness . We work closely with the Housing Associations to provide the best possible service to our customers.
If you are threatened with homelessness we can advise you on ways that may prevent you becoming homeless. If this cannot be done we will offer you temporary accommodation while we are looking for permanent housing.
Our aim is to improve the conditions of homes within the district and we use a variety of measures to acheive this. This may include grant assistance, advice and, if necessary, enforcement. In particular we assist landlords, tenants, vulnerable groups and the disabled maintain safe comfortable homes.
