Message from Managing Director

Dear Applicant

Thank you for requesting details of a position with Wychavon District Council.

Although a small Authority employing approximately 420 members of staff, Wychavon District Council covers a large geographical area and provides services to a diverse population.

The Council was awarded the prestigious Local Government Chronicle Council of the Year Award in 2007 in recognition of its innovation/performance and forward thinking culture.   We have also been recognised nationally as a good employer through The Times Best Councils to Work For Awards in 2007.

Wychavon prides itself in spending our time and energy on what we know matters to our residents and local communities.  We’re a successful district council with a strong reputation for cutting through the red tape and getting things done – especially when it comes to improving services.   We also have an excellent reputation for managing cash resources and keeping Council Tax increases low at 2.5% each year.

I believe you will find Wychavon an informal and progressive place to work offering an innovative approach to service provision.  You will have the opportunity to use your skills, knowledge and past experience to continue to develop our resource plans and services to ensure they work together to support the Council’s overall priorities.

Good luck with your application.

Jack Hegarty
