Our contractors (FOCSA) collects the refuse weekly in black sacks on our behalf. Householders are supplied with a roll of sacks each six months. The roll provides 2 black sacks per week. If you need more black sacks for the remainder of the six months these can be purchased from local grocers, supermarkets and hardware shops.
The refuse sacks must be securely tied and ready for collection by 7am at the front edge of your property
(37.58 KB). The collectors will take any reasonable amount of domestic waste provided it is properly contained in a sack. For large items such as beds and cookers see Bulky Waste Collection.
We collect as normal on all bank holidays except at Christmas and New Year.
If you don't know what day your refuse and recycling sacks are collected, enter your location details within our My Local Area
If the collectors have missed your refuse either:
The collection crew will clean up any waste from sacks that split while they are loading. However if the waste is spilt before they arrive it is the responsibility of the householder to clear the waste.
Please wrap broken glass or sharp objects in newspaper or put them in a separate container so nothing sharp can stick out of the bag. Put a label on the bag or container to warn the collector.
You can take your garden waste to the Civic Amenity Sites at Hill and Moor near Throckmorton or Hanbury Road near Droitwich Spa to be recycled, or see our offer on subsidised home compost bins to help you recycle garden waste at home.
Alternatively, garden waste collection sacks can be purchased from the council's Community Contact Centres in Abbey Road, Evesham, High Street, Droitwich Spa or the Civic Centre, Pershore. The sacks can be put out for collection with normal refuse and will be sent for disposal as per normal household waste. Sacks can be purchased individually (at £1.60 each). Alternatively, they can be posted to you, see below for costs including postage. Rates effective from 21st August 2006.
