Guide To Pershore

The most appropriate word for Pershore is "elegant". Its wide main street and treasured Georgian buildings that unfortunately "turn their back" on the River Avon house attractive specialist shops and malls. Recognised as one of the towns in the country to be of major historical importance - Pershore's jewel is undoubtedly its impressive Norman Abbey, founded in 618, but with the majority of the building dating back to the 13th Century.

Pershore Heritage Centre will delight you with themed displays of the area's past - and for all the gardeners; don't miss Pershore College, renowned world-wide as a centre of horticultural excellence it is designated as the Royal Horticultural Society's Centre for the West Midlands, it also has a plant centre that is open daily and pick your own in the season.
